When you witness the connection between Micah and Brooke it just makes you want to smile. They are so sweet together and I absolutely love so many details of their story. And it was an absolute joy to be a part of this season in their lives by capturing these memories for them. But first I gotta share the backstory because it really is the best!
Their Story
They met in the fall of 2017 at a community apple fest and cider pressing party. She was there at the invitation of an old friend who she had recently run into, who happened to be Micah's sister-in-law and he was there along with some of his family.
Bryan and I were there that night and I know we weren't the only ones who could sense the immediate attraction between these two. The biggest tell? When the live band was playing, Micah asked Brooke to dance. Everyone knew Micah as the guy who would rather hunt or spend time out in the woods by himself then date. And here he was willingly out on a dance floor. A sight that was a first for many of us! Brooke told me she thought he was so cute as he was trying to learn how to country swing dance with her. And there is no denying from an onlookers perspective that they just seemed to "fit" one another.
Micah made the first move later that night by asking for her number when he walked her out to her truck. And their first date was going deer hunting together just a few short weeks later.
And the rest as They say is history
They spent as much time together as possible for the rest of the fall and winter. And come Spring time, Micah hatched a plan to propose to her. Soon into their trek one day when they were out shed hunting, he indicated for her to go on up ahead because he needed a bathroom break. Which is when he placed an antler along the path for her to find on their way back which he had carved the question "Marry me?" into.
After hiking for several hours Brooke said she was so tired by the time they got back to the spot. When she saw the antler she couldn't figure out how they had missed on their way in. Micah told her to go pick it up, which she did and then saw the question carved into it. When she turned around to face Micah, he was down on one knee with a gorgeous diamond ring! **Cue all the country girls to go "awwwwwwwww" **
Their wildflower engagement session was nothing short of magical
Brooke had the idea to do their engagement session in a field of blooming camas and this little secluded meadow is a beautiful example of the gem-like locations sprinkled throughout North Idaho just waiting to be explored. What started out as an overcast afternoon blossomed into a beautiful golden hour that cast a beautiful glow over this already gorgeous spot.
